The Elk

On the 4th, we got up early,(sick and wrong on a holiday Mark!),for a great horse ride. Mark is right, you do have to be on your horse, and in the canyon (don't ask where, I can't even find "Koholowo Girls Camp"!)by 7 am, to see the elk and their babies. The elk were awesome, not only to see but to hear! The moms make a noise, kind of a whine, to call their babies. As we walked up on them, they were as curious as us. They just stared, so we started whining at them, then they would do it back. We watched them as long as we could stand, the mosquitos were so bad, the horses were dancing around, but it was awesome. On the way down the canyon, the trailer had a blow out. That's not great on narrow roads, unloading horses, and hoping no one hits into us while fixing it! So great to have Bryan,(Justine's *friend, who leaves for the N.Carolina Mission in October)there to help!

Camping With The Deuels'

End of July...Already??

I can't beleive July is going so fast!! Not that we've accomplished much....we've camped a little, been on a few horse rides, celebrated the 4th, and 24th. Now I better get busy so it looks like I've done something, besides catch up on sleep!

Joe's Pond

Who needs a pool? There are 5 acres between us and our nearest neighbor, and those 5 acres are priceless! Joe owns those 5 acres, and at the back of his properity he has dug an incredible pond. He uses his well flow to keep it going. He has planted trout and bass in the pond. He doesn't have a house out here, probably never will. He uses the properity for his horses, and parties. You would never it was there, you can't see it from the road. However we know it's there! The girls party there at least once a week! (We pay Joe with Noni Chews) I think Kizzy is there daily, she brings us a fish once in awhile. I think the girls will look back one day and realize what an awesome place they had to grow up, not just the pond, but Shirleys Willow trees and feilds too! All the dragon flies, fire flies, they've had amazing summertimes!
