Snow Blast Weekend!

Gavin & the guys, keeping us company!

Snow Blast!

Last weekend was the Snow Blast! Basically a party for kids looking at going to Snow College, Ephraim, Utah. We drove Justine, and three of her friends down on Friday to stay overnight. We got there early, so we went touring apartments. That was an experience for the girls, to go into guys apartments...haha, why would the manager even suggest a guys apartment? To a group of girls?!! I have to admit, I was ready to hold my breath, thinking it might have an odor. The manager informed us she bribed them with pizza if they cleaned it. Surprisingly the beds were made, & smelled ok~ We looked at a few others,(you know for the free pens),but Justine ended up staying the night at the nicest one...so we have to hurry and get a deposit on it for fall! It is new, indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub, work out room, tanning beds(college girls need this..right?...especially somewhere it's butt cold, and you wear layers of clothes...& what if a cute guy asks you to go hot tubbing! AND YOU AREN'T TAN? that would be bad..)washer & dryer in the apartment, closet space- and right across the street from the school, and church. Anyway, on with the blast that Justine had, they played games, swam, climbed a wall, toured the campus, and she is happy she is going there. Everyone was nice, she saw some familiar faces, and it's only an hour away! The group of girls are thinking about checking other colleges for weekend getaways until school is out!
~oh, and we weren't lonely, because her boyfriend & his friends came over to watch movies with us~ Gavin was making sure that Mark & I were ok with the "Girls Gone Wild"~ Lets hope when Justine does move out, that her friends that are here still come to visit!! Poor Kimber is going to be bored! Although Kimber wasn't here either, she was off making movies with Kelsi & Rachel. It was definetely a Girls Weekend!

15 & Amazing!

So last night at about 10:00 p.m. Kimber decides she wants her own blog. She was in the computer room, instant messaging me on my laptop, to ask a couple of questions, and to check it out. By 11:00 p.m. she was finished! New blog and all! Ok folks, it can take me an hour just to figure out how to change my background, and wow if I post something, or mess around with the music this can take much longer. But this is Kimber we are talking about, and when she sets out to do something, there is no stopping her. For example, when she was 4, we had a baby lamb die.(that is why they are called "bummer" lambs I've decided, every year we usually have a "bummer") Kimber, in her Barney purple snow boots, blonde curly hair, is helping her dad bury it. Mark dug the hole, and I looked up from the garden,& Kimber had lifted the lamb up,(over her shoulder like she was Santa with his toy bag), and dropped him in the hole. I was amazed, grossed out, but amazed that she would even think she was that strong, let alone be able to do it! No doubting herself, she just did it. Last spring I picked her up from school, and she got in the truck and casually says "I made the Production Company". My eyes got big, I looked at her and asked "weren't tryouts like a month ago? And you decided not to do it?" She replied "yeah, they were, but I tried out today, Mr.White let me" My eyes got even bigger, and I was very curious as to what she did for tryouts, since there really wasn't any practice involved~ "So, uhm Kimber, what did you do?" she looked at me, like I'm the stupid mom, and said "I quoted Alice in Wonderland, and sang a song from it, now can we go get a Mr.Pibb?" Shocking moment for me to say the least. Kimber is pretty quiet at school, to think of her singing a solo just shocked me! Kimber has so many things she is good at, but the creative side to her is awesome! Her robots made of duct tape, her random photography, is awesome. Maybe her connection with Alice in Wonderland is closer than I know!! You rock Kimber!

Surprise Party!

Last night we had surprise party for Grandma! It was great to all be together...we had some great laughs! The Grandkids all made a special card, with a favorite memory they have with her, and then they got to take turns asking her questions. Jeff made an amazing DVD...with some wild music! It went with some of those hair styles! haha Thanks Jeff & Janeen for letting us party there! Happy Birthday Grandma Nancy, have fun on that cruise!! We can't wait for more partying and stories!

Sliding Around

According to the Deseret News, we had 187% of snow fall in Utah County, compared to other years.....and it's still falling into January. We are trying different things to make the best out of it~ Why tube down hills if a 4-wheeler can pull you around. Just FYI, the kids sledding are Mark's brother Gary's two kids, Cassie,& Chase. Chase took a few hard falls, but always came up laughing! The blonde little girl Cammi, is Mark's brother Jeff's youngest, and the little girl with long brown hair is Quinci, Gavin's (Justine's boyfriend)little sister. She also took a major hit, Mark brought her in for me to get her warm, fix her some cocoa, and watch a movie. Quinci has so much personality, I was showing her Justine's old movies, more her age, and Quinci looks at me and asks "Don't you have the Office"! She is fun! And of course we watched the Office, sat by the fire, drank some hot cocoa, & it doesn't get much better than that! It's great to have younger kids around again!
