Daytona Beach
Wow! We decided for vacation this year we would check out Florida. Mark was really getting into the planning of the trip, so I let him. Hmmm. He did pretty good, however, the first day I was starting to get scared, also a little annoyed. We had a great flight, except for the odors that were abundant. Someone in front of the girls needed Beano. We had a three hour layover somewhere like Michigan...is that even on the way?! (No wonder the flight was cheap.)Oh well, the girls had cameras, they took pictures of the art in the bathroom, of a tiled cow. Also each other's eyeballs. ? We did a little airport shopping, eating, yuck. When we finally got to Orlanda, the rental car place handed us the keys to the mid sized rental...PT CRUISER? What the H is that? Seriously? Mark was fine, and was walking away, when I got a little pushy with the place. I had him look at our girls, & luggage. He upgraded us to a Pimped Out *RED Chrysler 300. Wow, low rider. That thing picks up more crap than a street sweeper. Comfy though,& luggage room. Then the car ride, to Daytona, where our first hotel was. We were ready for bed, so we could hit the beach first thing. We got up, dressed for the beach, had the sunscreen and floaties, life was good....until Mark mentioned NASCAR! He had a plan we were unaware of, a NASCAR tour. The girls asked what is Nascar. We did the whole tour of the track, simulater ride, etc. I mostly people watched people with mullets, and sleeveless shirts. Thinking "kind of trashy". Then I remembered how dressed up we were...for the beach! Oh well, had a coke, and enjoyed. Mark really needed to bring along a nephew to appreciate it. We did finally hit the beach. It was great...wondered why it was so cheap to park. We now know its famous for shark attacks. We also had to hit a few stores, where we bought the sexy mullet for Mark, just so we could fit in a little bit better. (Really wished I would have bought the gold teeth, and swimsuit cover up dang it!) Oh, and they sell pork rinds or rines, dependeing who you are EVERYWHERE! They even have recipes for pork rind pancakes. After we had a great eye opening experience, of another culture, we headed to Orlando to get checked into the Marriot Village. (We love Marriott, usually so clean.) Mark and the girls went in to get the hotel key.... the lady was so kind, she showed them a map of the pools, and wanted him to be aware that it was Orlandos GAY DAYS that week, and maybe we wouldn't want our girls to go to a certain pool, because it was reserved for the lesbian parties. WOW! Back to the *RED, that is the new color of Gay Pride.
